Hey guys, I need some ideas for a gaming build for around $2000. I already have a ssd so I'm all good for storage. I kinda would like to have a theme or color scheme to the build along with the same brand for gpu and mobo (I know it doesn't matter but I'm OCD). I was thinking the quad core i7 skylake, or should I get the 6 cores? I also already have a 4k monitor but with the budget I'm sure the 1080 would fit in there. Thanks for any help you can give!

Ok. For less than $1,500 this setup can work for you. I don't think you would need to spend more than that for great performance. And since you're not using regular 3.5'' hard drives, I think the Core 3300 case would be a good match (it's on sale right now too).

If you want to get the six core CPU it definitely won't hurt especially if you plan on going to VR. But for the most part there really isn't much of a difference between the hex core and quad core CPUs. The 6700K is definitely the most popular choice as far as gaming goes. Here's something I would suggest:

I went with a White/Gray/Black Monotone Color Scheme. What SSD do you already have? Adding a 950 Pro M.2 drive will help with boot and loading times substantially. You don't need mechanical storage, right?
