So I recently moved abroad and instead of bringing my entire PC over, I just brought some part.

Someone here sold their old PC with a HD7870 in it and I recently tried to put in my own HD7950 and connect it via Crossfire.

Now though Crossfire doesnt show up in the Game>Global Settings. In the System area the 2nd GPU is Disabled. I've done a reinstall of drivers, hell I've done a clean reinstall of Windows to try and fix it but nada.

I've attached my dxdiag on the AMD forums as well if someone wants a look

TJ Hooker is correct. There are a ton of existing message threads confirming this.

Google query: 7950 crossfire 7870

What I would do: Research the selling prices of both cards on Ebay (options: sold, used). The proceeds from the sales might be enough to get you a faster GPU, which will probably consume less power.

Yeah gonna switch end of the year. Apparently the XT version of the 7870 is Tahiti but I think I dont have that :p
