Hi all. As the title says, I am needing help with parts for a new gaming PC. My close friend will be building it for me as he has built PC's in the past. My budget is $2500, like any budget you'd like to stay under it, but if I really have to reach the limit I am willing to do so. I consider this the last PC I ever plan to buy/build, so anything that can be upgrade able works.

I am obviously looking for a GPU 1080 GTX build with motherboard options to eventually upgrade to 2 1080's. If you'd like to provide builds with 2 1080's that's great, but I'd like to see both options on builds with 1 or 2 of the 1080s.

Monitors, mice, keyboards, headphones, etc. are not required for my build. If its not included in the build that's not a problem.

Saving the best for last, this PC will be for gaming of course! Thanks in advance for everyone's help and advice. I look forward to reading and responding.

Throw in a 1440p/G-sync/144hz monitor and it will be awesome for 3 years!

Just something I threw together real quick. (This build is designed with only one GPU initially in mind.) Selected a motherboard with 4 RAM slots and SLI capability for future upgrades. Selected a 750 watt power supply in case you do decide to add the second 1080. Went with a 1tb SSD 850 EVO but this could be changed with a smaller SSD and HDDs can be added if you need more space. (Or on this budget with this build, you could just add the HDDs or additional SSDs.) I'm not the greatest with cases so I selected something that fit the needs of the build but there's plenty of room in the budget to adjust this if needed.

With a budget of $2500 you could easily add a 2nd 1080 to this build with no other changes and still be ~$300 under budget.

Does the motherboard allow for SLI if I wanted to buy another gtx 1080 down the road?

I5 6600k is nearly $100 cheaper and will still be perfectly good for gaming, and also means you would be able to get another 1080.

This system will last you a very long time. You said it was the last PC you ever plan to buy/build, so I put this list together with upgradability in mind. The 6850K, with 12 threads and 40 PCI Express Lanes is a very powerful CPU and will allow for full SLI support should you decide to get two cards.
