Hi, i'm in the process of buying stuff for a new build, i want to scavenge my old SSD in my current system to use in my new system, but would like to completely wipe it for a fresh start with the new PC.

As windows is installed on the SSD what is the best way to go about wiping it, as the tutorials i've found online point towards wiping a second hard drive, not the one with windows on it.

Thanks for any help :)

No, because you're not booting from that. You will be booting from your USB.

Basically, yes.
When it asks where to install, choose Custom. You will be presented with a bunch of partitions.
Select each one, Delete. Leaving one large space.
Let windows install to that, creating what it needs.

Exactly.

It's a thing of beauty which doesn't exists in real life.

On a computer storage medium, what tell is what is there and where, is the CATALOG, you zero out (quick format) the catalog (directory) and everything is, for practical purposes, poof, gone.

As already mentioned, if you are selling this thing and have incriminating information you don't want your ex- to have, then we have another conversation.

ok, one last thing, connecting it to the new motherboard, cpus, etc, with all that data on it won't cause any problems?
Thanks for your help :)
