I am thinking to my next pc configuration. I will get a motherboard like in title (GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-GAMING 5) as a gift (more or less) and i was trying to understand how to maximize my machine.
That motherboard has two m.2 port, and i would like to use both not in RAID but just to have win10 + "serious" software in first SSD and "less serious" (gaming mainly) software in second.
According to manual:
Connector M2H_32G is running at x4 (PCIEX4) * The PCIEX4 slot shares bandwidth with the M2H_32G connector. The PCIEX4 slot will become unavailable when an SSD is installed in the M2H_32G connector.
Connector M2D_32G: "PCIe x4 SSD runs at x2 speed" (and there is a chart explaining what SATA ports you will or will not lose based on the configuration).
I will use one Samsung 950 PRO 256 GB in Connector M2H_32G, but what i should do for the Connector M2D_32G? Go for an SSD M.2 PCIe x2 or for an SSD M.2 SATA III? Is this second connector actually a PCIe one, or it is a SATA III?
