i have a amd 9370 but i want a new cooler, the one i currently have is a antec 1250 and its really loud and gets temps around 60 or higher, i was looking at a Cooler Master Hyper 212X and Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 but not sure which ones better. i can get either or so moneys not a problem its just noise and performance. thanks for helping and if theres better coolers please share! :)

the H100i V2 will be better, it should be a slight step up from what you have, the hyper 212X while a good heatsink, is simply not meant for your chip. just saying, the H100Iiis not silent either, you might want to get good fans to keep it quieter.

It is not at all overhyped, for its price it is fantastic, it simply was never made to cool a chip like this. that would be like throwing a value RX480 at maxed 4K. the RX480 is not a bad card, it just was never meant for 4K.
I do agree though with the noctua and phanteks idea so long as the are dual tower though. although I think a h100i might work best here.

yeah it's a great cooler for it's price tag. the ladder half of the sentence is sadly often forgotten.
personally when it comes to water cooling it's a matter of taste imo. decent air coolers like the Noctua NH-D14 get the job done all the same.
granted water cooling looks better, there are no RAM issues and so on
but one must be comfortable with liquid cycling around one's precious expensive components

too true.

Corsair makes some pretty nice SP120 fans that are good for radiators, currently they are quite cheap. Also there are corsiar's new maglev fans but those are not that cheap. Silverstone AP fans are pretty great too. there are those EK vadar fans as well. I am not to sure about the other options though as I run server fans in my builds as I happen to have a ton and am too cheap to get other fans that are quieter.

if you're asking for good CPU coolers:

Noctua NH-D14 / D15
be quiet! Dark Rock 2 / 3
Phanteks PH-TC14PE
Cryorig R1 / H5
Thermalright Archon / True Spirit 140
(Scythe Mugen Max)

but check your case specs online to see if you can fit one of these babys
