will these fans do for my kraken x61

hi,

I'm about to order a nzxt kraken x61 and i was wondering if the NZXT FZ-140mm Blue LED would do fine?

they will work okay, but they are optimized for airflow, and thus might not be as suited for the radiator. frankly the stock fans are better, but ideally you could do push pull with the blue fans being the visible set, and the white stock fans being hidden for best performance.

oh yes, and the nice thing is, you can probably run the fans at a slightly lower speed and still get the same results. Just make sure you can fit it in the case with push pull. sometimes it can get tight.

Don't do a push pull config, do a push config only with two good static pressure fans, you'll see virtually no performance increase, and will pretty much be throwing away money.

well considering they have to buy fans in the first place, they might as well buy fans they want, and then they can but the cheaper light up fans and use the free stock fans and get the same results for less. technically they should be getting delta fans, as there is no better fan, but those things are $30 a piece and require very expensive fan controllers lest they blow out your ears.

It's all about static pressure rating with radiators, as the airflow needs to be strong enough to push through to the other side at reasonable strength. I suggest you do a bit of reading on radiator configuration and airflow, as it can be quite interesting and helpful.

Trust me sir, I know much about radiators and static pressure. the cheapest way to get static pressure is to double up fans hence push pull. using the already SP optimized stock fans and these airflow fans will result in more static pressure than stock fans alone, and I would venture to say more than those fractal fans as it would be two fans to one.

that would be the ideal fix. silverstone makes a line called air penetrators that light up and work well. also corsair SP120s although those will probably cost more.

Corsair's SP120s will not fit on the Kraken however, but the SP140s will.
They only come in LED variants, but feel free to pick and choose whichever color you like.

depends on the CPU my friends overclocked 4790K certainly benefited from push pull SP140s. considering you get two free fans, you might as well use them, although they probably would not be needed with those fans.
