So, I am shopping for a friend's upcoming birthday who is still working with a circa 2000 case, and I am tired of looking at it. I have narrowed it down to the NZXT Phantom 530, but the last time I had dealt with a NZXT case (Original Phantom) I wasn't all too thrilled with the forced use of their proprietary fans, so I am wondering if this is still the case with them?
I don't keep up much on case trends due to the fact that I build my own. So I am at a loss, because if I have to buy proprietary NZXT fans for it, I'm just going to go with a Corsair 760/780T. He's into Storm Trooper/GlaDOS motif, so I thought these would be both good options. If you have other suggestions, I'm open to hear them. Budget is around $150 give or take (Full Towers only).
