So as the title suggests Im planning on upgrading my rig to have the Anthlon X4 880k and one of the 1060, I will be running it on the MSI Grenade Board (A68HM). I'm just trying to figure if its worth it or not.

look at the rx 470

the 880k is a lower tier cpu, the gtx 1060 is too much

Ive looked at the 1151 Socket for something to jump over too when I do get the money in the future, right now I just want a decent low end computer build.

Ill give it a look, anything on the Nvidia side of things that could work as well?

EDIT: Could you go a bit more into detail? Ive asked around with some people and some said it would do fine or just have some bottle necking.

basically after a point getting a better gpu would net no fps gains because the processor would not be able to keep up

this does not mean it would not actually work, you just would be paying for performance you would never see

Ah I see, thats understandable, Granted Im mostly going to try and Future proof per say, getting a CPU rather than a APU then after a year and saving up to switch to Intel.

But I've been looking over some of the R470s and the different brands, I looked at the Sapphire models (review wise) but Im at a lost at which brand would be the best and contemplating if 8 gig card is worth it or not,

thats fine, if you intend to upgrade your platform then it would make sense to get a 1060

just be sure to be aware you are not going to see benchmark numbers out of the 1060 with your current setup

sapphire is top tier

Gotcha, so the 1060 might work per say? If not Ill pick up the Sapphire RX 470 once I get the cash. Thank you for you time replying and answering my questions.

it will work, you just wont see full performance from it until you upgrade your setup

Gotcha Gotcha, so like maybe 2/3s performance metaphorically? And the 470s will work with it no problemo, and would a 630W Power supply be ample enough to power ir and the Processor with no problem?

Sorry for posting so late but I can't let this go. I have a x4 880k with a GTX 1060 6gb and not a spot of bottlenecking I play battlefield 1 with 60-80 FPS also fallout 4 50-80 FPS which is still impressive for this cpu. If you're new to building rigs and want to learn about overclocking this cpu is ideal, true it's not future proof but not a big hit on the pocket. You could use this combination cpu and you to have a great 1920x1080 gaming rig and also better FPS than consoles. Now that I have learned about overclocking and of gaming I'm going to upgrade but this cpu and gpu combo has done a great job educating me a t little expense. X4 880k, GTX 1060 6gb, rog crossblade ranger, patriot 16gb ram, Corsair rm750i, rog genome, Asus predator xb241h. Cpu 4.5 oc, ram 1800 oc, monitor 188 Hz oc and gpu of variable depending on game.
