I just built a new pc for the first time. It has
i5 6600k
asus b150 pro gaming
ripjaws 2133 DDR4 2 X 8GB
cooler master evo 212
zotac 1060 amp! 6GB
hyperx Fury 120GB SSD
seagate 7200 rpm 2tb HDD
evga 500W 80+ Bronze

I turn on the power switch on the psu and the motherboard lits up. Fair enough
I hit the power button (all the wiring for the case to the mb for LED, reset, and power are tripled checked) and the cpu fan moves .5 cm (within .1 s) and stops.
No case fans are on. (They are molex so I diary chained them) and then plugged the fan controll wire into the fan head in the mb. The 1060 fans do no spin. I was wonder if this means my motherboard is defective or if my psu is.
Any help would be great.

Make sure you have plugged the corrected PSU ports on the motherboard. check something like a video card if it has PCI-E cable connected. And make sure you have fully plugged the 24 Pin motherboard power supply cable. Then, turn it on again and see what happens.

The 24 pin connector is in (its 20 +4). The video card takes only 6 pin( so i used the 6 +2 pin connector, using only the 6 pin section.)
Everything seems to be fine I will try to rewire it within a 1-2 days.

It is the asus b150 pro gaming.

Im not sure if that card has onboard video and I'm sure where to check. I will try to boot it without the graphics in.

make sure you plug the 20 + 4 pin fully in, and you don't see any gap between.

So if there is onboard graphics I have to use that?
But then how will the video card be utilized?

guys i built the pc out the case and i slowly built up using the "no post" thread and i am getting 1 long beep and 2 short beeps
Thats a video error. I tried outputing through the motherboard itself and then installed the graphics card and booted.
In both situation i still get 1 long beep and 2 short beeps. What is the problem?

edit:Im getting the 1 long 2 short if i remove the ram too.
edit2: Should I get new ram? I check the motherboard manual and its not on the recommended list.

It seem that I did not press hard enough on my ram lol.
Also it seems I daisy chained too many fan together and that fan header overloaded my motherboard.
It's all good now thanks guys. :^)
