Hello,
I installed win7 after formatting the drive along with the previous.
After the install, the computer run almost 10 hours, even more, but it shows as if still looks for updates. I even let it run more than 15 hours straight, and still nothing.

How can it be solved?

Thanks

Two patches have worked for me to fix update issues, you need to have SP1 on the system. Install this patch https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3020369 then this one KB3172605 (there is a 32 and a 64 bit version), reboot, it should start to download patches soon after.

If you have issues installing where it's stuck at "searching for local updates" or something similar, stop the wusa process and run the patch again.

Of course. This is the second time I install this (the first time I installed it, a few years back had it's gun run, no problems with the updates at all), after I had unsolvable problems with the wifi driver stuck.
With no other solution , I guess I will probably reinstall it once again.

better do that, to eliminate bad installation as a culprit...we can take it further from there...
also, it is recommended to install OS only with the target drive attached, if u have multiple drives...else the system reserved partition tends to find itself on other drives at times...

I tried both files (darthvader suggested this too in this link).
Both files scan the computer a long time for an update, but noting more. They are also "stuck" as the cancel button doesn't work.

Did you read my note about stopping the wusa process if they scan for a long time? You need to kill any update the system is trying to run, then run those patches. Also look for the svcholst.exe, right-click on it, go to Services and stop and start the uasuserv service. Those two patches will run, but may need some tweaking to start properly.

also turn off bits while trying this...

I have not seen a system that failed do run the updates after the couple of patches where run, I have done maybe a dozen fixes to systems with them, all worked. Not sure why removing the drives would have done anything, are you saying on a single drive, after a clean Windows setup it's freezing? Try running on one RAM stick at a time, see if any of them make the system work properly.

I just wanted to update the guys that tried to help me-
The weirdest thing happened: After it seemed to me that the drives (probably the windows running drive) just collapsed, I tried what you offered once more - changed auto update back and forth, run KB3172605 - AND IT WORKED! I don't know why or how since I did these thing many times, and right after I ran it, I got all the updates listed after 5 minutes.
Wonder are the ways of the Windows7.
Thank you all.

I'm currently having the same problem as this guy, after a long struggle I finally managed to get my pc to install the update you posted by turning bits off and automatic updating off, rebooted my pc after it installed, turned it back on, tried searching for an update, nothing, turned bits back on and automatic updates back on, rebooted again, still nothing, same problem as before, wont find any updates:/
