Yo, since i returned my 380X cause it was a bust i was wondering if an OC (4 ghx) FX 6100. I'm now looking at an RX 470 or a 960, or something else. My budget is under 300 aussie (less than 200 US) but will either card perform with an old cpu or would upgrading to 8320 as well help, or start over with i3 6100?
any help would be great!

I just really i want to know if i can get GTX 960 and game fine and wait until Zen and Intel 7th

CPU: FX 6100 (OC 4.0 GHz)
GPU: Gigabyte 750 Ti
PSU: Corsair 500w
RAM: Kingston Basic 8gb

Solution
Yeah on CSGO I'm at 150fps with my current setup, had 120-140 with my old HD 4850 + my current FX-8320. My point is there's no reason to spend money on a mild GPU just because your CPU isn't on par with it. Either you invest now on a good GPU or keep your current and instead invest on a new CPU + mobo.
Yes, your CPU will bottleneck any of those GPUs, depending on the game it can be something acceptable like BF4/Crysis series or really an issue on very CPU intensive games like CSGO, L4D2 (any source engine-based game really).

I'd suggest to get the new GPU anyways, it will provide a noticeable boost regardless of the bottleneck. Once you're able aim for an i5 CPU unless Zen really proves to be worthy, just don't get stuck on the current AMD FX series.

Cool and quickly what would be the better GPU? GTX 960 or save like 50 bucks and get an RX 460? i had a terrible experience with an R9 380X so id like to stay away

Too bad you had a bad experience with it, as you can see from my signature I have a R9 380x and its been doing great for me.

The RX 460 is certainly a great offer for its price, however it'd be better to aim for a GPU that's at least twice your current one (RX 480 / GTX 970), but that of course depends on your budget.

My problem is that the games that are lagging seem to be having problems because of the CPU which is why I returned my R9 380X has it no performance boost in CPU intensive games; Fallout 4, Farcry 4, CSGO, No Man's Sky LOL and even fricken minecraft which is why i came to see if anyone had seen anything other than my experince
