Hi everyone this is the last post before i make my dream pc build (wish me luck) and i was wondering what is the difference between the MSI GTX 1060 3GB and the MSI GTX 1060 6GB, I was wondering whether the less gigabytes affect the card because i would like to get the 3GB version because it is less cost.

BTW I want to run games like DAYZ ARMA3 and RUST and games when they come out like BF1 and Escape from Tarkov.
Thank you all for the help along the way.

UPDATE!!!
I am also considering getting the Gainward GeForce GTX 1060, 3GB because it is smaller and im certain it will fit and it is very cheap. But im worried it will effect FPS.

VRAM stands for the GPU (V)ideo RAM.

Some games if Modded need more RAM , and some games Already have modes That needs more than 3GB RAM like DOOM.

look at this

http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/89/much-vram-need-1080p-1440p-4k/index.html

you will see many games even at FHD need more than 3GB at ultra settings

and DOOM :

http://www.pcgamer.com/dooms-nightmare-graphics-image-quality-compared-and-benchmarked/

and you dont know what will come in the Future . so better stay with the 6GB VRAM.

The 3gb card is also lower specs, it has a sm cluster disabled, not just the vram is lower. 3gb and 6gb refers to the video ram or vram of the gpu. The 1060 is not strong enough for 4k. 1080p and 4k is a big difference, that's 4x more pixels. The vram tests are not conclusive when the cards have extra and the game just doesn't dump what it doesn't need. If you see tests of cards with lower vram, you can see even 2gb vs 4gb may see the same performance.

You will need to lower the detail level . I dont recommend that you get the 3GB really .. besides , it is slower , it is the same speed of RX480

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_1060_gaming_x_3gb_review,12.html

Th RX480 4GB or 8GB would be a better option for you , you will get the same performance and at least 4GB VRAM ...

I would pick between RX480 8GB/4GB and GTX 1060 6GB

forget GTX 1060 3GB.
