I am understanding that you are using 'Geforce Experience' to update and it doesn't work? Have you tried manually downloading the driver? Going to the official Nvidia website, geforce drivers, pick your card series AND choose the right operating system (Windows 10 64 or 32 bit). Or try Windows Update.

Yes, I have tried all the possible ways I can think of to download the drivers. I even tried SlimDrivers and it showed it still needed downloading, went through the whole process and it still popped up saying this " is not compatible with your current operating system ". I just tried a 970 and it popped right up. When I tried the 1070, it did same thing. I also just tried the 1070 on my 5930K build ( which was a pain uninstalling the sli 1080 cards in it. It worked though )
Think I am going to do a clean install again. I seriously detest Windows 10.

Aah man that sucks, sounds like a Windows 10 issue then indeed. I've seen people have issues with certain Windows 10 Build versions. (One pal of mine also had compatability issues with an Windows 10 build a few months ago) He reinstalled it with a newer build and it was fine. Good luck!
