Hey Folks,

Finishing up an over-the-top build for my 4k dream machine. Just wanted some tips/feedback about a couple of things.

Firstly my spec list not inc GPU:
CPU + Cooler: Intel Core i7-6850K, Corsair H90
MB: Asus Rampage V Edition 10 EATX LGA2011-3
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 series 64GB (8 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 512GB SSD, Western Digital Black 6TB
Case: Aerocool GT-S Black Edition ATX Full Tower
PSU: Corsair 1200W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (from previous comp)
Optic: LG BH16NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
Monitor: Acer XB321HK BMIPHZ 32.0" 60Hz Monitor
Other: Razer Man O War 7.1 Wireless PC Gaming Headset

As can probably be seen Budget is not a concern, I'm just keen to build something beasty that I can greatly enjoy for the next few years.

Primary use is gaming and graphic design (lots of 3d modeling)

I'm quite keen on getting SLI 1080s. I was more curious if it would be better for heat to just get the water cooled Gigabyte cards however I've heard that the EVGA cards are really good quality. After all the research I've done on parts I feel these two GPUs are the better after market options.

Is there anything on the list that you'd swap out? Thoughts on the GPUs I've listed?

Any and all advice/tips is welcome and appreciated!

Aaron :)

Instead of the Samsung 850 Pro, which is a SATA device, seeing as you have an M.2 port in the mobo i would go for a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 drive (recommended drive in here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-ssds,3891.html). It's way faster...

As for SLI, i would avoid it: not all games scale well with SLI (especially console ports, which most of the AAA games are nowadays). I would pick the most powerful single card available (the Titan X, or the 1080), and save the extra money to replace it when the next gen comes out. It's very frustrating to have a GPU that does nothing sitting on a PCIe port (i had crossfire, i know what i'm talking about).

Monitor: you should try a 120Hz or 144Hz monitor. Not an expert, so i have no specific...

Enjoy that build, looks fantastic!
