As the title suggests, what mobo would be best with my build?
I'm currently considering either ASUS HERO or MSI gaming M7. If you suggest mobos for me please also state why.
My build:
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory 14CL
Samsung 950 PRO 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Video Card
850W PSU

Solution
The Hero, MSI has poor QC so I myself won't do client builds on them. The Hero is very good and stable. As with many Z170s the early BIOS versions were lacking here and there due to all the new components coming out (DDR4, M.2s, etc), it's also a new platform, new CPUs and many are going Win10 - so new OS. Newer and even some experienced builders were having problems early on ;)

I can't speak for the MSI M7.
However, I do own and use the hero on a daily basis.
The Led's are subtle yet effective, and more importantly the BIOS layout is just fantastic.
The HERO tends to be cheaper, also.

Hero here is actually more expensive. I am going for a black and red build. The only uncertainties are the mobo and case. the M7 looks the best in my opinion but has mixed reviews and what ive heard from Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO that it is unstable. Did you have any issues with stability? Did you overclock?

my i5 6600k is at 4.4ghz voltage 1.39. It is perfectly stable after 2 months of almost solid usage. The M7 is also very good. All products have the chance to be defective or unstable.
ROG products would suite your black and red scheme perfectly.
ASUS is an easy company to RMA anyway so if you do have a bad experience then you divert to MSI if you choose to.

Actually I didnt have a bad experience with any company yet but then again i didnt overclock before so thats why im asking from someones perspective who actually has overclocked and utulized the boards features and so on which one would be the best? (yes i will start OC'ing too, dont know why i havent before)
The question is which board would suit me the best? The MSI gaming m7 ? ASUS hero ? ASS HERO Alpha? I don't know.. I made a threat on this forum in the mobo section to let someone very knowledgeable figure it out for me as my knowledge of pc's are very limited :p

Yea, if any of the two get the Asus.
But as you said you are looking to overclock, check out the AsRock boards. ;)

Ok I decided on going with the ASUS hero mobo :) What is the difference between hero and alpha? Im just considering one of these 2 so if somene could tell me the difference between the 2 and tell me their opinion on whether i should get it or not, I would appreciate it.
UPDATE: I just noticed some really negative reviews from both reviewers and peopel in newegg... more negative than other boards really. Why is this? I mean reviewers giving this only 3/5.. Any explanation for this? I thought it'd see better ratings when seeing this board promoted on this site so much.
Also a warning from pc part picker: – The motherboard M.2 slot #0 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6Gb/s ports are disabled.
