Hello:

I have just bought new RAM and found that I needed to upgrade my CPU in order to get the most from it's capabilities as for speed.NOTE: The RAM is not being recognized as being run DUAL CHANNEL for some reason also. I was going to forego upgrading to a newer MOBO\CPU combo as it did not seem to be relevant until I realized that I could get better performance in the following:

1.Getting a MOBO that has 133FSB capability
2.Having the CPU (K) capable of running the RAM at it's top speed (as this MOBO will not recognize it in Dual Channel).
3.Upgrading the CPU to a new Die Set as for speed and other dimensions.

My dilemma is that I do not know what MOBO and CPU to choose to get the MAX performance as or using a GPU for Multi-Monitor hookup as I want atleast 5 for multi tasking. And want to keep the Hardware I do have in a full ATX factor configuration incase I see the need to add cards.

Can someone advise me to what might be a cost effective solution to upgrade to concerning the 3 pts. mentioned above. There seems to be a problem with the RAM not being used in the capacity I thought it could be as for DUAL CHANNEL and I thought I would take this board to it's highest limit of capability, but it seems to have defective barriers I cannot overcome.

In retrospect I want to get a MOBO\CPU combo able to run at 133FSB,with a CPU (K) spec with the MOBO capable of OC'ing. This is going to be a Business unit as I have several ventures I wish to pursue in the coming 3yrs..

Solution
if you're getting a new motherboard and CPU particularly for the dual-channel DDR3 RAM than the Z97 chipset with an i7 CPU is the best decision for the best performance.

but the best decision for the best performance would really be to return the newer DDR3 and upgrade to the new Z170 platform with DDR4 quad-channel RAM.

I don't known weather they shall accept a return ,but I shall see as your right as I did not think of the QUAD Ch. equation. In any event there seems to be something wrong going on with the MOBO not recognizing it as DUAL CH. memory which bugs me.
I shall ask the seller I they will accept a return.I am not out much $$ if they do not and shall start looking for another solution as for getting a better combo in place.
IMO these upgraded versions of the Intel CPU's are not giant steps forward as of yet that is why I have been satisfied with the present system. But I want to move forward and now I realize that there is a flaw in trying to step forward to MAX out my present setup.

Thanks for such a quick and responsive reply.
