Which Mint is for me.

Hello there.
I'm looking for the right Mint for me configurations.Should i choose 17 or 18. What Enviroment to choose for the best preformance.

Solution
In general, if performance is an issue, go with either Xfce or Mate. They are the two lightest desktop environments in Mint. I prefer Xfce because Mate wouldn't recognize my audio interface. However, that was version 17; version 18 might have fixed that problem. Xfce is a really cool GUI. I love its start menu, the best I have ever seen in Linux. Very easy to use, everything right there at your fingertips. Very light on resources. If it were me, I would go with Xfce even if performance was not an issue.
