Cpu overheating? Or just done?

Hi , I have a amd FX -3250 3.5ghz processor and before I left for boot camp it would randomly shutoff during games no blue screens or anything, months later and not being used for months I turn on my computer and it shuts off almost 5 mins in , does it need new thermal paste or heats ink/cpu fan is bad or is it just done?

What temperature is it hitting? Honestly sounds more like a bad power supply to me.

My power supply is fairly new 750 watts got it back in April ish I'm going to wait a bit then check out task manager and come back to you

Even a new power supply could be defective, but if it was doing this even before replacement, that rules it out as the problem.

I'm going to put thermal paste on it if it still persists then perhaps either bad fan or cpu

What temperature is it hitting? Looking at the temperature is an easy way to tell if it's overheating.

I have windows 10 and I'm not used to this task manager how do I get to Temps lmao

You don't do it through task manager. Open up AMD Overdrive and check there.

Oh I had just installed windows 10 fresh I wiped my hard drive and everything because before it randomly tried to 10.1 and messed up my hard drives

Fixed it CPU was overheating put new thermal paste on it works perfect again. Ty for help
