You are better off getting the i5-6600K and a 1070 video card, especially if you want to have smooth game-play at 1440 on that monitor you picked. Or just get the 1070 along with the i7 if you have the budget.

Keep in mind that a 34" monitor will be huge when you are sitting close to it on your desk, you may want to go smaller, unless you know what it will look like. This is still a good model and about half the price https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-27-inch-Widescreen/dp/B0173PEX20 A 1070 will be better than a giant curved monitor IMHO, unless you are planning on using the thing for movies at a distance also.

Thanks for the reply, can you explain why would you recommend those instead of the 970? I'm just curious, because I want to learn more about computers, since i'm still fairly new to this.

The release of RX 480 and GTX 1060 kill that entire line-up (GTX 900 series). The only card that is worth it from the 900 series is the GTX 980 ti, however it's price is still horribly price.
