GTX 1060 3GB VRAM Usage

Solution

the thing with unity is the try to fill all the available VRAM regardless of setting. imagine when the game try to use more than 2GB on lowest preset on res lower than 1600x900. that is what happen with my 660 with unity. as for slower performance than 970 i heard people talking the game actually have a bit of issue on pascal causing equivalent pascal (to maxwell)...
I think the problem here, in this case, is the CPU bottlenecking the performance. In the exact moment when you changed the 'Graphics Quality', the CPU usage goes from 65% to 100% and the GPU usage from 60% to 46%.

How much time you have that GPU?

Hmm. I see. Even when i would change it to Low settings the vram usage would be maxed out. I think I should have restarted the game on whichever setting I wanted to record. Which, I wanted to record the Ultra setting so that's what I started on, but I saw it was getting quite a bit less fps than I expected, which is why I switched it.
