I have had my computer for a little over two years. It was my first custom build and first gaming rig. Recently, (past few days) while even in idle or scrolling through Facebook the cpu cooler (corsair h100igtx) runs as if its under game load and most times freezes or powers off my pc. So I cleaned out the rad with duster, and even reapplied thermal paste. Everything is locked down right and she still overheats and more than often will randomly power off. I wanted to see if it was the CPU or the cooler so I unmounted it and had my finger in both the cpu and the cooler and the cpu jumped from cool to unbearably hot in seconds. Is there a chance that I need to replace my CPU, or what?

which cpu do you have and what are your temps. if you can be more specific we could help you to a greater extent

if its really 94c then get a better cooler or something. that temp is going melt your cpu
