Looking at the QVL for the Gigabyte GA-Z170MX Gaming 5. In this list, there is a column labelled "Native" with most values being 2133 and a few at 2400. What does this column mean? I know that the description of the mobo says that it supports up to 3466 MHz RAM, so I am a little confused. Any help? Any recommendation of memory sticks for this mobo? First time building a computer. :)

Native is the value the RAM runs at without XMP enabled or overclocking. As you have seen, most DDR4 runs natively at 2133 and higher speeds require XMP or overclocking. A very few run at the 2400 speed. As long as your motherboard supports it, I would use DDR4 3000-3200. It has better performance while not paying a huge price premium. GSkill V series are my favorites for Skylake builds.

Using a Gigabyte GA-Z170MX Gaming 5 motherboard (overclockable) with an unlocked i5 processor, which is better: Higher MHz or higher GB?
With an i5 6600K overclocked to 4.4 GHz, what CPU cooler should we use?
Thank you for your help!

with computers your better not to over clock and shorten there life if you can. stable build use 2400 ram and nice heat sink like h7. if you want tot overclock look for 3000 speed ram at 1.25v. for the money if you can get 16g that should be about 70-.00. using two 8g sticks. use a good liquic cooler or a larger gaming air cooler. that runs about 60-70.00 for the air cooler.

Having enough RAM is more important than running faster RAM. I use a Thermalright CPU cooler, very similar to the CM 212 EVO. The EVO or the Cryorig H7 are both good air coolers capable of handling a modest overclock on the i5.
