CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 380X 4GB PCS+ Myst. Edition Video Card
Case: Azza CSAZ-XT1 W ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CXM 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit

This is my current build, I'm looking to upgrade the CPU for battlefield 1 is it worth the $180 upgrade? and is the cpu fan that comes with the 8370 which is called wraith going to fit in my case? I'd be gaming @1080p on a 29 inch tv lol not sure if for cost I want to replace my motherboard but this is the best processor my motherboard can socket.

Solution
Buy a $30 cooler & overclock the 6300 mate is my advice.
An upgrade to the 8370 will not give you a bang for buck performance upgrade.

A 6300@4.2ghz will run a 380x to its limits anyway.

What would you recommend if I went that route? A 212 Evo?

if possible change your motherboard and get a 4th or 5th gen i5. Trust me it will have better performance than an overclocked 8370 when it comes to gaming..... and if you have enough budget get hold of a 6th gen i5 paired up with a good mobo and ram, your rig will perform insanely..... fx 6300 has become the minimum requirement for gaming and not the recommended one. Soon enough it will start heavy bottlenecking in games!

^ over the last 1 year the 6300 has increased in comparative strength as games have become more multi-threaded.

While there's no doubt a full Intel rebuild would be better that's a $250-300 solution not a $30 one like im suggesting.

Watahu - what's your country ??
The 212 evo is decent enough but there maybe better/cheaper/easier to fit options available.

I'm in the US just looking for a solution to be able to play battlefield 1 for the cheapest amount.

What makes you think the 6300 won't do the job ??
The frostbyte engine has always performed well enough on multi core fx chips.

Cheap & cheerful , 5 minutes to fit.
Will do 4.2ghz easily

300 is slightly worse than a 212 evo , the 400 is better.
Price reflects that, both are quieter & easier to fit

You have a great quality board , as long as your chip isn't a dud you should be able to push fairly big clock increases .

The 400 looks like a good pick, I wasn't sure if being slightly above the minimum needed would be ok to run the game I know the recommended cpu was the 8370 so that's why I had that in mind.
