Hey
I have lately suffered from lagspikes after upgrading my CPU and video card. My processor is the AMD FX 8350 Black Edition 4.0 GHz to 4.2 turbo. my video card is AMD r9 390 8gb .
I regularly fps drops while gaming. My motherboard is the only part that has not been replaced .
I now have the Asus M5A78L - m USB 3.0.
my question now . I would notice a difference when I go to buy a new motherboard ? I am now looking at a AM3 + fx990 chipset motherboard .
the price does not matter . I just want to play games again without lag spikes.
I like to hear from you and sorry for my english : P

Check the temps. of your PC while playing games. Airflow is a major factor in performance. If it gets hot while playing games, invest in some fans to suck cold air in and hot air out. Bad RAM/RAM leakage also could be the cause of FPS stuttering/dropping, try taking out RAM sticks and testing one at a time. If you encounter issues with one of the sticks, that's probably your issue.

Ive just bought the asus sabertooth r2.0. My power supply is 650w so that must be enough i guess. Hopefully its a problem with my motherboard.. ive got now 5 fans in total and there is a good airflow. My temps are not getting higher above 60c. ( this is on ultra settings). Ive got two hdd drives. 1 tb and 500mb. On the 500mb driver is only windows 10 installed. On low settings do i have this issue too.

I don't see anything wrong with power consumption now, but could be something with your internet connection. Your PC is having lag issues, right? Not dropping FPS? If it's lagging, it's the internet connection causing the problems.

My internet connection is very well. Ive goy 98 download and 96 uploadspeed and a ping of 2 ms. Also this shouldnt be the case. My ping in game is around the 30. And the lagg is not all the time. Its dropping al least every minuten many times. I go from around 160 fps back to 20 or 30 fps. This is causing the lagg but i dont know where its comming from. My internet connection is very well and my hardware is not outdated. Unlikely i cant find the problem.
