Solution
Hey there, TP____

Basically a fresh install is always recommended. However, if you'd like to move your OS from an HDD to an SSD you should use migration/cloning software for that purpose. You could check out this tutorial: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows. You can use whatever cloning/migration software you'd like, I'm just sending it because of the suggestions and the step-by-step guide.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hey dude, do I have to put my os on the ssd or can I just use the ssd for games?

Well, basically you don't "have to", but it will be a huge waste of performance if you use it just for games. You don't get much of a boost from your storage device in terms of gaming. The only thing you'll achieve is faster initial loading (when you start the game) and faster in-game loading screens. However, if your OS is on the SSD, your whole system will benefit from that and everything will be much faster and snappier.

So basically it's up to you, but I'd strongly recommend that you use the SSD for your OS, and if you have some space left on it, you could put a couple of games on it (the ones that have a lot of loading screens e.g. games like Skyrim).

Ok thanks dude, I'm getting a Samsung EVO 240gb this should be plenty for os correct?

Well, it really depends on how you manage your space, but yes, in my opinion it should be enough for your OS, programs and a maybe a few games. Don't forget not to fill up the whole SSD capacity. Leave around 10% of free space at all times. You can also check out the suggestions for new SSD users from this link: https://www.maketecheasier.com/12-things-you-must-do-when-running-a-solid-state-drive-in-windows-7/. Even though it says Win7, those options are still viable for the newer versions as well.
