Hi friends, greetings.

Have assembled my own pc x64.
Core i5 6600, gigabyte B150M-DS3H-CF motherboard, zotac nvidia gt710 2gb ddr3 gpu, seagate 1tb hdd, kingston hyperx fury 8 gb ddr4 ram, samsung sf350 monitor plugged to gpu, cooler master 350w cabinet and installed windows 10. The fonts, videos and images on the monitor are pixelated. Have tried everything possible from resolution adjustment to gpu driver updates but problem still persists. Feeling sad that after spending $700 (me asian) left with a subpar display. Even my previous pc of 8 yrs seems better.
What could be the problem ?
Will my situation get better if I downgrade to Win7 ? Will the processor be compatible with Win7 ? Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Take that GT 710 GPU out and use the onboard graphics. The onboard GPU of the i5-6600 is actually faster and better than the GT 710. There is no reason to use that GPU. And yeah 1366x768 isn't gonna look super sharp at all, not compared to 1920x1080.

Thanks for replying sir.

Should I go for a better monitor ? If its the gpu will the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB DDR5 function better ?

You have one of the best CPUs for gaming out now. The 750ti is an improvement but its 2 generations old and not nearly as good as your CPU can support.

Get yourself a GTX 1060 if they are available (or GTX 970 if the 1060 is not - however if you get a GTX 970 you will need a better PSU), and get a 1080p monitor.

Thanks for advising. I got confirmed on the root cause now. Checked with a different monitor, its blurry as well. So its the gpu playing up.

I will definitely change the gpu to a gtx 970 and get a better psu as well. No gamer, just Photoshop and Illustrator user.

But, kindly advise, is the 1080p monitor indispensible ? I will be extremely hard pressed for funds.

Big thumbs to all you guys.

Good call, I missed the "no" in front of gamer.

OP just buy a new monitor, one that uses DVI or HDMI, and connect it to your motherboard's iGPU connectors. Get rid of the GT 710, and don't bother buying a better card it will do nothing for you.

Hello again,

I did as advised. I bought myself a new HP 22es, 1080p, 1920 x 1080 full HD monitor (using the HDMI cable). I also removed the GT 710 and am now running it on the on board Intel HD 530 graphics.

While the font are looking ultra sharp, the images and videos are looking quite hazy and blurry.

What should be done now to improve the situation ?

Thanks a lot for your time, sir.

Maybe I have to live with it.

If it won't be much trouble, can you please share a screen grab of yours for me to take a look at your 1920 x 1080.

Adios.
