Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card on a Sony Vaio VPCJ23M1E. Currently has HD graphics 3000 onboard chip and wondered if any options for upgrading?

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

I wouldn't think so.

Looks like the board in there is the "Sony Assy V092 MBX-246", but I can't find specifics.

You'd need:
1. An available PCIe slot
2. Sufficient power
3. Sufficient room to install & airflow to cool
4. A BIOS that supports it.

All things considered, I'd say no - there are no GPU upgrades available.

All-in-ones, generally speaking can upgrade the HDD/SSD (or add a second by removing the optical drive) and increase RAM (if not already maxed out). That's it.

Thanks for that, didn't think so, but thought best to check first. Looks like a new pc is the way forward. Shame its been a cracking machine over the years. Just wanted to run civ 6 when its out... Still birthday coming up, maybe if I ask the wife nicely...

Thanks again
