I was playing gta v on my pc for a good 4-5 hours and the pc just turned off, instantly, no warnings. I tried booting it back up but nothing had happened. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, the pc booted up for a second, all the fans went on as fast as they could then instantly died again. The whole thing was red hot. Anyone got any ideas of what it could be?

I've found the solution, i changed the psu and the same problem happend, so i then changed the board and still, the same thing. so i changed them both at the same time and voila! it works. Im now using a 5 year old board w/out hdmi and without a graphics card because my 450w cant handle it. looks like my gaming days are over until payday :'(

Yeah - when it comes to PCs, hot = bad. Have you removed the CPU cooler recently and forgotten to reapply thermal past when you put it back on? How about your fans (including the one on the PSU) - are they gunked up with dust and pet fur?
