What would be the setup for RAID5 +SSD boot

Completely noob when it comes to servers.

I'm aware of what RAID is, but can a separate SSD drive be used for booting the windows server, while not being part of the RAID(let's say x3 hard drive RAID5 setup) configuration?

This is for dell poweredge servers.

Windows Server or Windows desktop ??? The availability of drivers and ease of integration with the hardware is different depending on server vs desktop...
