i've ran into a disturbing gaming problem that I have over a year now.
Whenever I play games, the game just crashes randomly without any error pop-up or whatsoever. I noticed when I play a game with very good graphics the game will crash faster than a normal game with medium graphics. I occasionally get a BSOD aswell. I just really want to find out whats causing these game crashes and I really hope you guys could help me!

EDIT: What i've tried so far:
-Do a reset and put my pc back to factory mode
-Reinstall every driver
-HDD S.M.A.R.T test ( no errors or signs of hardware failure )
-Memtest ( 0 errors, and i've ran it 4 times )

Games I rarely get crashes on:
-League of Legends
-CSGO

Games I often get crashes on:
-Euro truck simulator 2
-Arma 3
-H1Z1
-The Culling

My specs:

Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 3450 @ 3.10GHz 62 °C
Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology

RAM
8,00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)

Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H61M-A/USB3 (LGA1155) 41 °C

Graphics
BenQ XL2411Z (1920x1080@144Hz)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (MSI) 47 °C

Storage
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-00BN5A0 (SATA) 38 °C

Optical Drives
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB

Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

PSU:Corsair CS650M

any help is highly appreciated!

Just theorizing...
short story... your PC should be able to run your games with no issues. You have already rule out a bunch of stuff and none is at fault. I believe, if you upgrade your memory or psu, the issue will still persist.

i believe you might have a faulty video card.

exkungen,

Let rule out air/heat issue
1. Take your PC apart and deep clean it
- Clean your CPU/Fan and re-thermal paste
- Take your video card apart clean and re-thermal paste
- Clean all your FANS
- Clean your PSU

Let rule out the Chip drivers
2. See if you can upgrade your Intel Chip Family Set Drivers

Let rule out the video drivers
3. Update your GTX 970 drivers and do a clean driver install

Let rule out the DirectX
4. Check the version you running
- update if needed

Keep us updated

I did a clean driver install and updated the intel drivers, my directx is already up to date as i´m running direct x 12. About the cleaning part I already cleaned my pc half a year ago and I don´t think its really necessary to do it again. I downloaded BF1 open beta and it crashes really fast I just don´t know whats causing it.

EDIT
gonna reset my pc to factory mode

exkungen,

Try moving your Video Card to another PCIe slot. If this doesn't help, my conclusion is your video is "finish".
When you are playing games, your video card is pumping out more resource then it has. The card over heats and crash.

My suggestion:
Upgrade to a GTX 1060 or RX 480

FYI:
the latest BF 1/CoD/Halo your not missing any exciting. Trust Me

exkungen,

BSOD troubleshooting?
1. New Hardware, Have install anything new? wireless card, tv card, etc.
2. New Software, Have you install 3rd parties apps?
3. Viruses and Malware, Run your viruses scanner and do a deep scan
4. Old or Broken Hardware, Make sure you

Regarding you video card.. i'm sorry I should of word it differently.
The release of GTX 1060 & RX 480, their specs, features, and price has render the entire GTX 900s series & AMD equivalent video cards "out of date". It's a nasty war right now with video cards

My last suggestion... is for you to trying or borrow another video card and see if this stabilize your game play

I know gtx 1060 is better, but they didn't have that one year ago when I decided to buy a new video card. I just did a reset to factory mode so there shouldnt be any software or virusses interupting or harming my pc. I think it might be my psu not having enough power to handle heavy games because if you look the psu up, its quite cheap.

exkungen,

There are plenty online sites where you can post all your PC's parts and they will give you a recommend PSU watt rating or requirements.
My personal preference is minimal 750w PSU full modular. Video Cards are hungry hungry hippos, when it comes to power consumption.

Good Luck

but my 650 watt power supple should be enough to run these components, i've asked in another thread ( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3173551/psu-crashing-games.html#xtor=EPR-8809 ) if my psu was good enough and the answer was yes.

there you go, but how is the relevant to my crashing problem if I may ask?

no, it's not your fault.. it's the fault of "Supply & Demand", "Quality Control", & "Video Cards War".

what? your graphic card does it have the 6-Pin / 8-Pin power requirement?
