Hi,
i have 2 Corsair XMS3 and 1 Corsair Vengeance , all 8GB. Total 24 GB. All 1600 mhz , 1.5 v.

Processor : I5.
Board : INTEL DH77KC.
Corsair smps vs550 and cabinet.

My pc having windows 7 is restarting anytime. May be after 10 mins or 6 hrs. It just crashed , no blue screen, no shutting down msg. somewhat like power turned off and on . I suspect this may be happening since I added VENGEANCE to the PC 2 years ago but not sure.
I want to ask if these 2 model or RAM can be used together. using both models could be the reason ?

Plz suggest.

Regards,
Ashutosh.

Most people will tell you not to mix memory. While in theory it should work, since the standards are common, in practice this is why memory is sold in matched kits.
I would certainly not put three modules on that motherboard. You will lose the advantage of dual-channel memory.

hi,

THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED.

After going through tons of blogs and articles. I concluded below things ...

1. The holdup time for PSU corsair vs550 is too low. This may be reason for restart.
2. Also its input voltage is 200-240, and voltage at my place is too low and also fluctuating.
3. I am using LUMINOUS UNO 600 UPS, which is also not as good as compared to APC BR series (some blogs and shop keeper suggested it )

Finally I have bought COOLER MASTER V750, it costs me 11000/- (Indian Rupee ). V550/650 is not available here offline on shop. Its holdup time is 16ms and input voltage is 100-240v. Since then the restart issue has gone.

APC BR series UPS is costing me around 8500/- INR, so I hold buying and gave a chance to LUMINOUS that i have, and it is working ok, as the power consumption is not much for me. may be 350W around.

Most of the blogs suggested to have PSU issue and same was for me.

Ashutosh.
