ASUS Desktop PC M32CD-CA019T "DVI no signal" first startup

Just purchased this, plugged in an ASUS VS Series VS238H-P monitor (of which I have two, both currently working,) changed the setting on the monitor to DVI, connected it to the horizontal VGA and...

DVI no signal.

On both monitors. HDMI doesn't work either. Tried the vertical VGA with the old cable for kicks, no go. Not using any other adapters or anything funky, just VGA to VGA, HDMI to HDMI and DVI to DVI.

If it's a refurb it should work without me cracking it I would assume. Any ideas?

Bit confused, you changed the input to DVI but then used the VGA cable, of course that won't work. Unless you don't really mean "VGA", what is "horizontal VGA"? Are you just saying VGA as a term for the video connection and it's not the VGA port or cable?

Does it work on another computer? It's not clear how you are hooking things up and to what, need some details about the setup, video card brand/model, what cables are connected to what monitor, do they both work one at a time?

You then said something about "If it's a refurb", so it's a used monitor? Need full details in the post, or it makes finding where the issue is very difficult.
