I thought about upgrading my brother's pc, but I'm not sure how power hungry of a card we could put in his rig with the power supply he has.
His system:
i3 4170
MSI r9 270
2 7200rpm hdds
1 ssd
1 dvd drive
a Corsair Cx500m power supply.
I thought about upgrading my brother's gpu to a friends gtx 770. If not, then I'm basically just curious how power hungry of a gpu can this system support? Like for example could something like a gtx 1060 or rx 480 work in his system? I know that with gpu's power recommendations they are just that, recommendations. I'm just not sure how close I can cut it when it comes to powering gpus.
