Hi,

I'm running my i7-6700k at stock settings and using CPU-Z v1.77 on Windows 10 and my multithreading benchmark is well below their reference for an i7-6700k at stock settings.

It is 84% vs 100% reference.

Single thread benchmark is even.

My core voltage is at 1.264v, which I lowered from the stock 1.312v my BIOS said it was at when I first booted.

Could this be a reason for my lower Multithreading benchmark? If not, is my cpu defective and should I get it replaced?

Are there other benchmarks I can use with references to compare my cpu?

Thanks for any and all help!

Solution
CPU-Z's benchmark is terrible. Try Cinebench r15.

EDIT: A defective CPU would not be slow, it simply would not work.

I'll try Cinebench r15 when I get home and post the results. Thanks.

So I've run Cinebench r15 multiple times and I'm getting CPU scores averaging around 900cb. Some google searches say that a stock i7-6700k should score a bit below 900 so it seems like my CPU is fine. I monitored the temps and it stayed around 67-68C.

Also, do you happen to know average scores for a GTX 1070? I've been looking onlin, but can't seem to find much.

Thanks for telling me about Cinebench r15 and your help!
