I don't understand how gpu usage can get in low 80s in certain games when I feel they should be like 98% . Maybe im wrong to think that but Is the nividia drivers taken control over gpu power or even the game itself doing this. My pc I would think there isn't much of a bottleneck. Could there be power saving features in the bios that are affecting performance?

It could potentially be the temperature thermal throttling or if you have the game capped at 60 fps, than the card doesn't need to work as hard to get over 60 when you have it capped.

there might be few reasons for not 100% GPU usage.
1. the game is locked at some FPS value and your card can do it with 80%
2. the CPU can not provide enough data to create more frames, so again not 100%
3. other components like RAM (speed and amount) may affect GPU usage.

You could check places like the bios and in overclocking software for the card.

What I noticed on bf4 when playing in 1080p I wasn't getting in the 90% gpu usage I was getting on certain maps 70 to 80%. I rasised the resolution scale to 200 % and was getting like 70 fps and was like 97% usage. I don't understand this vsync is off and my AC is on so any thoughts. Can this be game driver related ?
