So my rig is a msi 970 gaming with an amd fx 8350, msi gtx 960 2gb, 1tb barracuda, 650 psu but i have a 8gb 800 mhz ram. I play alot of triple a titles such as battlefield, warface, and star wars. But recently i have been getting significant fps drops almost every minute. My cpu temps rarely touch 60c when playing.

Your CPU's overheating. You can replace / add more thermal paste between the CPU and fan, that will conduct more heat to heat sink and cool it a bit more, improving performance of the pc. You can also get a few more coolers, to get that air flowing. Also, refresh your CPU by using some software (google it).

I agree with epixP3, I have a 6350(like yours but less cores) and play battlefield Etc. and with my £20 cooler hardly ever get over 50 degrees. so yours should not be reaching that either. if you are using the stock Amd FAN then I strongly recommend getting a better one. that one is terrible. other than that I recommend get something better than 800mhz ram.
