Force Windows 7 to sleep while game is running

I'm looking for a way to make Windows 7 go to sleep even if Hearthstone is running. Normally if the game is running, Windows can't go to sleep. Another acceptable solution would be if there was a way to have the computer just kill the game when it's time to go to sleep. So I want to either ignore the game and go to sleep even if it's running, or kill the game so that it can go to sleep. This has been a pain in the neck for a long time now and I would really appreciate any help. I don't mind extreme outside the box solutions so fire away. Thanks.

Kid playing games when supposed to be going to bed problem?

The best "out of the box" solution I have seen is to walk into the room. Power down the rig. Take the power cord. Say goodnight and then turn the lights off on the way out. Give the cable back at breakfast. Repeat as needed until the desired pattern of behavior is in place.

Any other solution can be easily bypassed if you have a smart kid. This "out of the box" solution does work.
