Coil Whine Palit Jetstream GTX 1070

Solution
The "coil whine" is present on each circle with inductor.
You can easily identify the source - just open the case. Usually it appears under load.
if you can hear it from closed case, you can try to RMA it. Have no idea about the Jetstream, EVGA do accept RMA on annoying coil whine.

Coil whine is typically in the gpu, it's an issue with it not other hardware. As a side note you bought something called a jetstream and are surprised its loud? Sorry, this is why I don't buy the cheapest brand out typically. See lots of these posts on them

the Jetstream are actually pretty silent cards, go read some tests
also there are reports about coil whine with the ROG Strix and MSI Gaming X as well so that really means nothing

did you use another PSU before? or is this the first time you run your GTX1070?
I got the Gainward GS 1070 which is basically the same card and don't get any coil whine, using a TS650 myself
are you sure it's a coil whine and not some vibration issue for example? maybe one of the screws ain't tight enough

I bought the Palit Jetstream because it is more silent and cooler than the others "MSI, ASUS" More expensive =/= better

Yeah, i used the Corsair CS650M. I'm sure it's coil whine because i only hear it when i'm gaming and it goes louder the higher my framerate is (menus and loading screens)

I forget to mention that the coil whine appeared after installing my new GTX 1070. Never had any coil whine with my old HD 7950 by Sapphire (except on loading screens and menus where the framerate is usually very high)

in menus you shouldn't hear it as the GPU shouldn't hit the temps for the fans to start spinning?
usually coil whine happens due to vibration. as said, tighten your screws or loosen them a bit, see if it makes a difference
if not, get in touch with Palit support, if it's a new card it shouldn't have that kind of problems

also make sure it's no sound related to CPU load. might as well be the CPU fan failing (had that problem myself once, computer emitting a high pitched noise when stressed, 2 weeks later my CPU fan failed with bearing defect)

I retightened the screws and the noise is still there. My GTX 1070 is less than a week old.
