I have a gtx 760 and I think about upgrading. How much would my performance improve with a gtx 1060 or should I aim higher?

Solution
GTX 1060 would be a significant upgrade over a 760 and would be perfectly functional at 1080p.

The question of whether to aim higher depends on whether you want to play past 1080p and higher refresh rates. If you game exclusively at 1080p, you'll be fine with a 1060; if you want to turn up the resolution and details, then a 1070 might be more up your alley.

And if you plan to go 4K, then 1080 or Titan X is pretty much the only way to go :)

It is about twice as fast ie. double the fps in games at same settings or about the same fps but on completely maxed out settings. userbenchmark 760 scores 47% and 1060 scores 92% meaning about 2x increase in performance.

I have upgraded from a 760 to a 1060 and I still cannot max out anything@1080p, and no there are no bottlenecks. also the physics on both cards do not change at all, they are the exact same
