Alright, so back in June I ordered a USB hub for my computer. It plugs in to the pcie x2 slot in the motherboard, and also requires a dedicated molex power cord. So after a month or two of procrastination I finally got it installed.

After I got the hub installed I began having issues with my *disk* drive in task manager spiking to 100 and lingering there. It took a few days but unplugging it seemed to fix that. The other major problem that I can and will not live with is when in use, the hub won't let my computer shut down. It simply restarts and then gets stuck at a black screen that has the mobo company logo. So the first night I just held the power button. Then the next morning It got stuck at the logo. I had to unplug everything out the five slots and let it boot to the log in screen, and then I could proceed and plug everything back in. So I simply have not used it and it really bothers me because I need more usb's but would like it to be on the device not external.

My specs (Maybe this could shine some light but I don't think it will):

Case: Corsair 600T White
Mother Board: ASUS z170-a
CPU: Intel i6 6600k overclocked 20%
GPU: GTX 970 STRIX ASUS
CPU Cooler: Corsair h60 (push-pull fan set up not that it matters)
PSU: EVGA 600w Gq
RAM: Corsair vengeance LPX 3200Mhz 16gb Kit
HDD: #1 WD Blue 1tb #2Seagate SSHD 2tb 7200rpm

The USB Hub I got on amazon: Orico 7 USB 3.0 PCIe card
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XVQ0M4Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also I should put my OS is Windows 10, don't know if that matters. Anyway any help would be helpful because I am out of ideas.

Solution
It could be a driver issue as, according to your Amazon link, Windows 10 is not supported:

"Compatible with Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008/7/8 32 Bit or 64Bit"

That's all I can think of as a possible cause, it may or may not be relevant, but worth mentioning.

Yeah, I guess I will have to try to get a refund, I cant imagine why it would cause my computer to not shut down or start up properly though.
