Should I upgrade to an i5 6600 from the 6400?

Right now I have an i5 6400 paired with a gtx 1070 and I'm getting smooth performance for the most part (60FPS with vsync on because I get lots of screen tearing without it on), but I get frame dips to about 40 FPS a lot in demanding games like Just Cause 3 and the Battlefield 1 beta. Would upgrading to an i5 6600 give me better perfomance or will there not be a noticable difference?
Specs:
i5 6400
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW
Asus B150-PRO D3
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3 1600MHz

The B150 Pro does NOT support overclocking, so it's pretty pointless to get the 6700K or 6600K. Without either of those though, the performance increase isn't all that great, 21% in multithreaded performance (useful for games like BF1 and JC3), which translates to less than 10% framerate improvement in most cases.

Rather than that, I would suggest getting a 144Hz monitor or G-Sync, those will remove tearing...
The i5 6600 is clocked just under 20% faster, so you can expect ~20% better performance in completely CPU bottlenecked scenarios. E.g. 40fps would become 48fps.

Why not to an i7 6700 or 6700k? That would be a far more significant improvement.

Would a 6700 give me a good enough performance boost to upgrade?

I've had my i5 3570K for 4 years now, and even with some screaming deals on i7 3770K's, I've not yet been tempted.

It's entirely your call in the end. Seems like a lot of money for a few frames, but if you've money to burn, go for it.
