I started a new build but kept my ssd with my OS from my previous one. I booted it up without formatting and clean installing windows and everything seems to be working fine. I have heard there are issues when keeping your old storagewithout formatting it. Should I format and reinstall windows anyway?

You should always reformat your HDD and buy a new copy of windows with an new build, as the OS is linked to the motherboard it was originally installed on, meaning it will encounter compatibility issues if new hardware is introduced.
