Hey guys whatsup. I'm new here but I'm building a pc and I was really confused about what psu I should get on a budget.I even thought shipping evga 500b internationally but I came across this 650w power supply for 80 dollars and its gold certified:http://cougargaming.com/products/psus/gxs/.
GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS.
specs:
Core i5 6500
Gtx 1060 amp edition
8gb ddr4 ram
Asrock h110m-hds
Case some chinese case or something :)

Seasonic is 100% worth the cost

And even though the 6500 is 4 core, it's only 3.2GHz vs the i3 6100's 3.7GHz. In games, HT tends to act like 50% of an extra core at least (usually above 75% since games are FP heavy), so if the 6500 had 4x3.2 performance score in a game then the i3 would be 3.7*(2+1), which means if the game is 100% multithreaded (very few games are), it would be only 15%...

One problem is seasonic or xfx here in Lebanon is no where to be found. But I got somehow confused on what you mean by andyson.Should it be a bad thing?

If it's not a Seasonic, CWT, FSP, or SuperFlower platfrom (kind of like how dell and HP computers actually use intel and amd chips, power supplies have different real makers), don't trust it. Some exceptions can be made here and there (some of enhance's new stuff is decent) but in general you should stick to those.

If you can find antec high current gamer series units they are the same as the seasonic S12II

I found an fsp hexa and some antec hcg which are not available in stock and I don't know when it will be.Even though the cougar is a gold cert it isnt good? And is it better than corsair cx500 and evga 500 bronze? Thanks btw.

fsp hydro would be good, but none of the others you listed would be safe to use with your system

What do you mean by not safe.Would it fail or something? If you can find something in this site pcandparts.com or recommend a good bang for buck psu I would really appreciate mate.By the way the antec I told you about is from the high current gamer series.

Not safe depends on the unit, the ones you've been discussing are just likely to fail earlier than expected, some of the cheaper stuff can actually blow up

I meant the corsair cx and evga b1 you mentioned aren't really all that good. The antec HCG series is definitely good enough, but you said it was out of stock.

https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-S12II-520-BRONZE-SS-520GB/dp/B00390P1NO. Is this your recommendation? Since I told store to ship it out but it isn't confirmed yet so if you don't mind to tell me if there is a better deal than this. REGARDS.

Better deal depends on where you are. Usually the 520 is cheapest, but the Seasonic G 550 and EVGA G2 are usually not all that much more expensive

And is the 520 a big leap over the basic 80+ bronze certified evga since it will cost me approx 20 dollars more. But both evga and seasonic will be shipped from amazon to Lebanon so that counts. But the cougar one is available locally.so they will end up in the same price almost.

Seasonic S12II is better than the EVGA 500W units (W1 and B1, there is no B2 until 650W), and definitely $20 better. The EVGA G2 and Seasonic G series PSUs are even better, though not 100% necessary

Today I was seeing the shipping costs and its just unviable since the seasonic 520 will cost me around 110$ and that is certainly not in the budget. There is still some options here like the thermaltake smart se 630w or 730w or the cougar gx s 650w.I looked up for the corsair cx500m but wasnt available.Tell me what you recommend guys and thanks.

My recommendation? Get a cheaper graphics card or CPU. If you get the i3 6100 you can afford any good PSU. The PSU is the single most important piece of a computer, without it literally nothing works! The GPU isn't needed for the PC to run (CPU and internal graphics), and in fact everything but the motherboard isn't needed for the machine to turn on (but cpu and memory are required to do anything useful).

But the i3 6100 will bottleneck the gpu in cpu intensive games like gta 5.Do you think the cougar would fail?because it isn't a cheap psu.and there is some inwin powerman and commander available if they are good.I may be able to squeeze some extra cash into the budget.Do you think I should proceed with the seasonic?

That's nonsense, the i3 is perfectly fine for even a 1070, let alone 1060

Some youtube videos show it but the reason I prefer the i5 is to be futureproof for at least 2 years
Because there are games that benefit from a true quad core.Exact seasonic price is 125$ for the 520w.Store manager wants to kill me :) he is trying to convince me to take the cougar.Do you think the seasonic is worth it at this price point?

Seasonic is 100% worth the cost

And even though the 6500 is 4 core, it's only 3.2GHz vs the i3 6100's 3.7GHz. In games, HT tends to act like 50% of an extra core at least (usually above 75% since games are FP heavy), so if the 6500 had 4x3.2 performance score in a game then the i3 would be 3.7*(2+1), which means if the game is 100% multithreaded (very few games are), it would be only 15% slower. It's probably the best value for it's price, the only thing beating it would be the 6600K/6700K overclocked. It will definitely hold it's own longer than the 1060!
