K10N78M Board - RAM Question

Hello Everyeone,
I just want to check I am on the right path here:
I have a "homemade" PC, with a K10N78M board in it and AMD athlon II x2 250. I am essentially making into a Hyperspin Arcade.

I need to upgrade the RAM, there is only 3GB in at present.

I believe I can go up to 8GB in RAM?
So I think I need x2 4GB sticks.

Can I go for any brand of DDR2-800/667/533? Should I stick at 800?
