Hey everyone so I have a Z97X-UD5H motherboard from gigabyte -- I decided to put in a disk drive the other day. My power supply is a 750w modular power supply and I put the cable on the wrong slot... plugged it into the drive and turned on the computer... a fire started in my case and I turned the computer off immediately. I opened up to see the damage, the only thing that was damaged was the SATA cable that was leading to the mobo from the disk drive. (it was burnt on the end that was connected to the motherboard the casing on the sata cable is melted and looks messed up) the motherboard looks okay. I installed a fresh copy of windows after and it just has some weird issues like pages loading very slowly occasionally and drivers / updates wouldn't be applied and it should my graphics card as generic VGA (it's a GTX 980). Any help would be much appreciated.

I have not installed all of the motherboard drivers .. I think I'm going to have to re-install windows as I did it on a damaged disk, I was just worried about the motherboard. Is there any way to test it to make sure that it still works? Or as long as the computer is working will it still work?
