Which sound card?

Hi guys just wondering what sound card i should be using for recording audio, I'm currently using a Neewer 3.5mm clip on mic as well as a pair of sanheiser 598 headphones plugged directly into a asus xonar dg sound card. Everytime i try to use both mic and headphones to work i get an annoying background/ white noise sound that gets louder the more i turn the sound up, Does anyone how any solutions to his problem. Thanks.

For me, the best sound card for years has been the Asus Xonar Essence STX and they also have the newer Essence STX II now which adds 7.1 channel support. Might be overkill for what you want, but you can't go wrong with it.
