Hello everyone,
These days i have been wondering if i should build an enthusiast pc build with 2nd gen ix processor...
So i found a really nice deal for i5 2500 for only 175$ (including PSU,Case,MB,ram) and from what i know the i5 2500k and the i7 2600k are monsters of a processors for all time...
Sadly i cant afford a 2600k processor as it is 170$ piece...
Same goes for 2500k a little bit more affordable...
So i was wondering if an i5 2400s (pretty impossible) or the i5 2500 (i hope it works) for 720p streaming on games like League of legends and cs:go (im gonna pair it with something like gtx 570/580).
Thanks in advance and have a nice day :)

For LoL and CS:GO those processors are fine, the i5 2500 should do the job (at 720p) as its still quad core and those games are pretty single core based.

That said the processors are older, not sure where you get "monster processors of all time" they are not and are bested by a 6th gen i3. You may find it to be somewhat lacking.

Im getting the monster cpu's from the charts that say that the i7 2600k (5-year-old cpu) is only about 20% slower than the i7 6700k... This only shows how powerful this processor have been at the time it was released. Have a nice day :)

I don't know where you got your charts but they are quite incorrect:

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-2700K/3502vs1985

the 6700k is nearly double the performance, and thats based on just user stats, not a pure benchmark as well.

I dont rate stuff like integrated gpu and Lithography as well as popularity, i only mention pure powerformance in which even in this site is 20-30%.

Almost 50% faster multi threaded:

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/577/Intel_Core_i7_i7-2700K_vs_Intel_Core_i7_i7-6700K.html
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-intel-skylake-core-i7-6700k-review

faster memory support, faster system bus, support for faster drives. Its an all around package as well.

Don't get me wrong the i7 2600k is still a quite viable processor and at this point still good enough for most gaming, but the 6700k is still significantly faster.
