Compatability question with triple monitor + GTX 1070 setup

Hello,
I have a dual monitor set up and I want to add a 3rd. I am also upgrading from a GTX 580 -> GTX 1070. My current monitors are two ViewSonic VA2431wm 24” 60Hz, and I would like to add a Benq XL2411Z 144hz monitor. Will the new 1070 gpu support these three monitors (compatibility wise/efficiency wise)?

+JIB271 Most GTX 1070's have a 1 x DVI port, 1 x HDMI, 3 x DisplayPorts. You will need to buy and connect at least one of your ViewSonic displays to a Male DisplayPort to Female DVI adapter (links below). Were it me, I'd be temped to spend an extra $10 on the two-pack, just because I like the idea of all my monitors being connected to DisplayPorts. But I'm picky about my peripherals.

This is great thanks so much. The question is, I dont think that my tower has 3 display port females. Should I use the 2 display ports for my viewsonics and my HDMI female for the benq for best results. Can HDMI support 144hz? What about display ports?

Also, I was told by a microcenter tech that if I have 2 60hz monitors and 1 144hz monitor, the power of the 144hz monitor will be brought down to 60hz because we are splitting the power between 3 monitors. Any clarification as to what he is talking about/what is the truth to this?

If I were to replace one of the 60hz monitors with the 144z hz monitor, would this be better? If this is the case, should I just use both of the DVI ports, or should I use the display ports (with the converters)?

Are you gaming across all 3 monitors, or just on the 144hz? If only gaming on single screen 144hz you should be fine, but you will want to connect this monitor using Dual Link DVI or Displayport, not HDMI.

Yeah Gaming will be on just the 144hz Monitor, and the other two will be just for web surfing. So, I should use just the 3 display ports? 2 converters for the DVI (for the viewsonics) -> display port and the BenQ monitor should be hooked up to display ports as well?

"Splitting the power between 3 monitors"... I have absolutely no idea what the technician was talking about. I currently have two 60 Hz and one 165 Hz display connected to my system right now.

I thought that your ViewSonic VA2431wm only had a VGA and DVI port. But if you mean using the adapters to connect from DVI on the Viewsonics, to DisplayPort on the GTX 1070, then yes you can do that. You just want to pay attention to the male/female perspective of the adapter(s) that you select.

Yeah it seemed a bit shady to me too. What I think everyoen in this thread is telling me is that I should use adaptors to get the VGA from my viewsonics -> Display ports, and use the DVI -> Display port adaptor from the 144hz BenQ monitor to connect directly to the 3rd available Display Port. Is this correct?
