I recently upgraded my 8 year old PC to make Overwatch playable. I love the game while playing at lower settings, but I'd really like to experience more its intended beauty with the higher settings.
I'd like to know what hardware I can keep, if any, and what I should upgrade. I don't stream or have any open browsers and usually play with Overwatch being the only thing running. I don't intend to play with epic settings, but I'd like to be in the high settings. Thanks!

My current Specs
Motherboard: MSI X58 Platinum (MS-7522)
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.67 GHz
RAM: 7GB
GPU: EVGA nvidia geforce GTX 660
PSU: EVGA Supernova 850B2

Case: Unicorn Sigma Metal Storm (203 x 452 x 521 mm)

Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks Again!

I saw benchmarks for the game (SOURCE:http://kotaku.com/overwatch-pc-benchmarks-making-ultra-hd-look-easy-1779094701) and that the GTX 660 would work ultra settings 1080P at 60fps. Though you would have to upgrade your CPU along with your Motherboard.

Thanks so much for taking the time and figuring this out for me. This is exactly what I was looking for, but after reading the kotaku article you linked to, I realized I didn't know what I wanted.

My monitor ratio is 21:9 (2560 x 1080), and I believe I'll dip below 60 fps with my current GPU (GTX 660). I now realize I'll have to upgrade my GPU to take advantage of my screen real estate if I want 60 fps in ultra settings. It also sounds like 90 fps is the sweet spot, so I believe I'll have be looking at something closer to a GTX 780 ti now.

If my goal is 90 fps at 2560 x 1080. Will a core i5-6500 work, or is there a better option? It looks like I can still use the motherboard you suggested with this CPU, correct?
